D-TOX is a 2024 VCA Masters of Film and Television Graduate movie, written and directed by my daughter Polly Garrett.
Tasked by Polly to be their Production Designer, I set to work designing and building the four movie sets in my home studio over a five month period. The story is set in a space station in an undefined time period and the challenge was to create these sets with virtually no budget, and to make them in such a way that they were easily transportable and modular in construction for shooting and practical purposes.
The outcome was four functional and unique sets, largely created from materials scavenged from warehouse skip bins!
